The winners of The 18th Annual Spirited Awards will be announced at the ceremony on Thursday, July 25th at The Fillmore New Orleans. It is all part of the Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC) conference, which is celebrating its 22nd year in New Orleans from July 21-26, 2024.

On Tuesday morning, the third Regional Final for The Perfect Blend Cocktail Competition 2024 was held in Melbourne. Bartenders flocked to BYRDI, meeting their host for the day, Luke Whearty, before embarking on a day of outdoor adventures at Victoria’s Restaurant of the Year, O.My.
The World’s 50 Best Bars has announced the extended 51-100 list with a re-entry from Australia, Melbourne’s Byrdi at No.61!
From an Aussie perspective, there were some new and old faces featured in the list including Maybe Sammy, Byrdi, Continental Deli Bar Bistro, Dean & Nancy, Bar Planet and Caretaker’s Cottage.

“However professional the service is, we aim to give the people a unique but rememberable experience by the time they walk out of the door. So making sure they feel as welcome as possible, is incredibly important.”
From a local standpoint, for Melbourne bars made the list. The Everleigh in Melbourne was a new entry and the highest Aussie bar in the 51 to 100 coming in at 73. Byrdi Melbourne came in at 80, Above Board at 84 and Black Pearl at 98. Great news for four of the city’s best bars who are just slowly creeping out of lockdown.
