Registrations are now open to participate in Flor de Caña’s Sustainable Cocktail Challenge for 2023. The initiative challenges bartenders to create an original cocktail using only sustainable ingredients and innovative techniques. With over 30 countries involved, participants will have the chance to win $10,000 USD in prize money and claim the title of ‘Flor de Caña World’s Most Sustainable Bartender’.
To participate in the initial selection process, bartenders can register their sustainable cocktail at www.flordecanachallenge.com. The cocktail must use Flor de Caña 12 Year Old Rum and participants must feature the serve on their venue’s menu and social page. The cocktail will be judged on its concept, creativity and sustainability elements, appearance, and promotion via social channels. The local finalists will be selected internally by the Flor de Caña Asia Pacific Team to participate in the National Final on September 12 as part of Sydney Bar Week. One winner from each participating country will then travel to Nicaragua to compete in the Global Final in February 2024.
In addition to winning the title and prize money, the winner will also form part of the Flor de Caña Sustainable Society Exchange Program where they can take part in international guest shifts and masterclasses.
