The Old Fashioned is a simple drink, with just the spirit base (in this case the delicious Angostura 1919 Rum), sugar and bitters (Piccolo uses a 50/50 blend of Angostura Orange Bitters and Angostura Aromatic Bitters), so this is a drink where the spirit really shines.
The House of Angostura has opened up entries for its Global Cocktail Challenge as it begins the hunt for its new brand ambassador.

Created in the late 1800’s at the Queen’s Park Hotel in Trinidad, the Queen’s Park Swizzle was made with big, fragrant dark rums from Guyana, known as Demerara rums.
“Instead of just being pushed to the wayside and having a soda water or a juice,” says Daniel Gregory, “they want something with a bit more complexity so they can be part of the group.”
