White Lyan set industry tongues wagging across the globe when it opened its doors in Hoxton, London, at the end of 2013. The bar — famous as much for its no citrus, no ice policy as it is for its innovative cocktails, good times vibe, and notorious after parties — announced on its Facebook page that it will be closing its doors in April.
But for fans of the bar, there is good news. Whilst White Lyan is closing, they’re working on new plans, and given their history of inventiveness, it’s going to be one to watch.
UK website, DrinkUp London was first to break the news, with a look at the drinks that will form White Lyan’s last ever menu — click here to take a look at the drinks. They’ll be bringing back some old favourites from their earlier menus, so should you get the chance to visit in the next couple of months, make sure you do.
We first spoke with the gents behind White Lyan, Ryan Chetiyawardana and Australia’s own Iain Griffiths, back in 2014 at Tales of the Cocktail, where they were named the world’s best new cocktail bar — click here to get the full rundown on what the bar is all about and why it has been so important.
